Iowa touchtennis Open Mixed Singles

After a six year absence, touchtennis is retuning to Iowa with the Iowa touchtennis Open, a 100 level Challenger event! There will be mixed singles and doubles draws with a guarantee of two matches in each division. Any combination of players (mixed or single-gender teams) is allowed in doubles. As an official event, participants will receive world rankings points.

Below is a general description of both events. This will be the same description for each event. Please make sure you are registering for the correct event. The deadline for registering is Wednesday, September 3 at noon central time.

Singles Entry Fee and Prize Money

Singles will have a $25 entry fee and prize money will be as follows:

Champion: $55

Runner-up: $25

Semi-finalists: $10

Doubles Entry Fee and Prize Money

Doubles will have a $30 entry fee per team ($15 per individual) and prize money will be as follows:

Champion team: $50

Runner-up team: $30

Semi-final teams: $10

Format

All singles and doubles matches will be best of 3 sets.

Official ball

Official touchtennis balls will be used

Rackets

21-inch rackets are required. Any 21-inch racket can be used, including junior rackets purchased at department stores. The tournament will have a limited number of 21-inch rackets available.

Schedule of play

Singles will being at 9:30 am. Doubles will begin around Noon.

Player/spectator amenities

Since this event will take place on a Fall Saturday, TVs will be set up to watch other games that occur during the tournament.
